PeopleDavid Bancroft, Managing Director & Principal Consultant David set up Reverse Delta in 2002 in order to take his skills in web and software development to the small business market: a place he has passion for due to his family's long retail history. He felt the time was right to help small businesses trade effectively online, at very reasonable costs due to low overheads and 21st century working methods such as open source development, outsourcing, broadband and mobile offices. David has built Reverse Delta into a profitable business, with turnover growing rapidly quarter-on-quarter. Prior to this, David was Head of Research and Development for APR SmartLogik, helping its growth from startup of 15 staff to Intel/Barclays-funded company of nearly 70. He managed the technical teams and also consulted with clients to design and develop e-commerce sites, web applications, content management systems and corporate portals for a variety of companies, including Affinity, Blockbuster, BBC and Thomson. His most succesful project was one of the first price comparison sites which was used by Compaq (now HP) and major football teams. Previously he rose quickly from Software Engineer programming in C and C++, to Senior Project Manager for Group 1 Software, developing enterprise software for clients such as Charles Schwab, American Express and British Gas and oversaw Group 1's ISO9002 Software Development Methodology. He holds a BSc Honours Degree in Software Engineering from University of Newcastle Upon Tyne, specialising in web technology (1993) and has a deep understanding of how the web can help businesses, and still enjoys getting his hands dirty with coding and SEO.
Dave Haygarth, SEO and Marketing Consultant With more than 12 years' marketing expertise in the public sector, Dave joined Reverse Delta in April 2007 to handle client accounts in the growing area of Search Engine Marketing. Dave's mildly non-technical background was a bonus (!), although his hobbies have led him to hosting and managing two cycling web sites. In his public sector history, Dave has mainly worked on web content management, marketing, communications and knowledge management for Lottery-funded grant schemes in the former Countryside Agency and Countryside Commission. Unlike David Bancroft, Dave doesn't like to get his hands dirty with coding, but has been known to when needs must!
Andrew Ralph, Software and Support Engineer Andrew was a software engineer for APR SmartLogik for 2 years, where he specialised in E-Commerce development in ASP and PHP for a number of high profile clients. He built one of the first comparative shopping search engines and also one of the first affiliate tracking systems. Andrew is an excellent developer in a variety of languages, and a thorough and precise engineer. Andrew freelanced for Reverse Delta for a number of years before joining Reverse Delta full time in 2005. He has been instrumental in designing and building our Content Management Systems (CMS). He holds an Honours Degree in Computer Science. Andy Karkut, Software Engineer Andy started out writing image processing software for state-of-the-art CCD array cameras on the William Herschel and Anglo-Australian telescopes. He has over 10 years programming experience in the healthcare and financial sectors where he developed a variety of software products, ranging from patient record systems to risk models. As a recent freelance recruited to the Reverse Delta team he is responsible for the implementation and design of our tailor-made software solutions. Jane Bancroft, Marketing and Administration Assistant Jane joined Reverse Delta with 11 years of experience in the voluntary sector. She started with us in September 2006, working one day a week (usually Fridays). Her main responsibilities are financial administration, office management, marketing and keeping customers and employees happy! The other four days per week, Jane works for a charity in central London, writing and managing website content, testing website functionality, organising and running training sessions and using her research techniques for one-off research projects. Our FreelancersWe have a network of partner companies and contractors with wide-ranging skills. We like to think that if we can't do something, we know someone who can!
